Pinecone scales or a bulging eye: two systemic antibiotics for internal infections.
Dropsy and popeye are the two internal bacterial infections hobbyists dread most, and both need an antibiotic that works from the inside, not a water conditioner. Fish Mino 100mg is minocycline, the same active many keepers remember from the old Maracyn Two and the go-to for the internal gram-negative infections behind pinecone scales and bulging eyes. Fish Sulfa 960mg (100 tablets, SMZ/TMP) is a second, different class for broad backup coverage. Experienced keepers run one class and switch if there is no change in five to seven days; this pack puts the first course and the fallback in one parcel, so you are not watching a sick fish while you wait for a second delivery. It is our most affordable pack, priced for the hobbyist who needs to act tonight.
What's in the pack (2 bottles):
- Fish Mino 100mg, 30 capsules (sold separately at $71.99)
- Fish Sulfa 960mg, 100 tablets (sold separately at $69.99)
Use it for:
- Dropsy: swollen belly with raised, pinecone scales
- Popeye: one or both eyes bulging or cloudy (exophthalmia)
- Red streaks in fins or bloody patches on the body (bacterial septicemia)
- Fish hiding, clamped fins and refusing food along with bloating
- Bloat that did not clear after a parasite treatment
Why buy the pack:
- Save $16.99 versus buying the 2 bottles separately ($141.98)
- Everything ships together in one box
- Full-size retail bottles, the same products sold individually on this site
- Sealed bottles with a long shelf life, so the pack keeps until you need it
- Free US shipping
- Factory sealed
- Mon-Fri support
Intended use & safety
Intended use & safety
This product is sold for use with ornamental aquarium fish only. It is not for human use, not for use in animals raised for food, and not intended for dogs, cats, livestock or any other animal.
Nothing on this page is medical or veterinary advice, and we cannot recommend doses for any animal. If a pet needs treatment, consult a licensed veterinarian who can examine the animal and prescribe appropriately.
Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store in the original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Check the lot number and expiry date printed on the packaging before use.
Antibacterial treatments can reduce the nitrifying bacteria that drive your tank's nitrogen cycle. Many aquarists treat in a separate hospital tank, monitor ammonia and nitrite during a course, and plan extra water changes afterwards.
