Aquarium treatments, stocked and shipped in the US Shop Essential Pack
We stock the ingredient families aquarists have relied on for years — amoxicillin, cephalexin, doxycycline, minocycline, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, penicillin, clindamycin, azithromycin, erythromycin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, metronidazole, fluconazole and ketoconazole — in the capsule, tablet and powder formats hobbyists already know.
Packs for the conditions people actually treat
Our treatment packs are built around real aquarium problems rather than generic bundles: fin rot and early bacterial infection, dropsy and popeye, internal parasites and bloat, fungus and columnaris, gram-negative infections, plus bulk packs sized for fish rooms, breeders and koi ponds.
Everything ships free within the United States, in factory-sealed packaging with lot and expiry coding. Orders placed before 5:00 PM ET on a business day begin processing the same day.
Frequently asked questions
Aquarium treatments, shipping and returnsWhat are these products intended for?
Everything we sell is intended for ornamental aquarium fish. These products are not for human use, not for use in animals raised for food, and not a substitute for veterinary care. If a pet other than an ornamental fish needs treatment, please consult a licensed veterinarian, who can prescribe the correct product and dose for that animal.
How do I choose between the different treatments?
The right choice depends on the condition. Broad-spectrum options such as amoxicillin or cephalexin are common starting points for general bacterial problems like fin rot and skin ulcers. Doxycycline and minocycline are used for respiratory and gill issues. Metronidazole targets anaerobic organisms and protozoan parasites such as Hexamita. Ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin are used against gram-negative organisms including Pseudomonas. Our treatment packs group these by condition if you would rather not pick individually.
What is the difference between the 250 mg and 500 mg versions?
The milligram figure is the amount of active ingredient per capsule or tablet — a 500 mg capsule contains twice as much as a 250 mg capsule. Which strength suits you depends on your tank volume and the number of doses you expect to need. Larger tanks, ponds and fish rooms generally get better value from the higher strengths and the 100-count bottles.
Will these treatments affect my biological filter?
They can. Antibacterial treatments reduce populations of the nitrifying bacteria that drive your tank's nitrogen cycle, and broad-spectrum products tend to have more effect than narrow ones. Many aquarists treat in a separate hospital tank for this reason, monitor ammonia and nitrite closely during a course, and plan for extra water changes afterwards.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not at the moment. We ship within the United States only, including to all 50 states. We are not able to accept international orders or forward shipments to freight forwarders.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
USPS Ground Advantage is free on every US order, with no minimum spend, and takes 5 business days in transit. Faster services are offered at checkout, from UPS® Ground at $7.45 up to Express at $34.95. On top of transit, orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days; those placed before 5:00 PM ET on a business day begin processing the same day.
How do I track my order?
You will receive a confirmation email with tracking details as soon as your order ships. If you have not received tracking within two business days of ordering, email sales@shopessentialpack.com with your order number and we will look into it.
Can I return a treatment if I change my mind?
Unopened, factory-sealed items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. For safety reasons we cannot accept returns of any item whose seal has been broken, since we cannot verify how it has been stored once it leaves our control. If an order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we will replace or refund it at our cost. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
How should I store these products?
Keep them in the original sealed container, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, and away from children and pets. Every item carries a lot number and an expiry date on the packaging. We rotate stock so that orders ship with as much remaining shelf life as possible.
Is there an age restriction on ordering?
Yes. You must be 18 or older to place an order with us. By completing checkout you confirm that you meet that requirement and that the products are intended for ornamental aquarium fish.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, along with the accelerated wallets offered at checkout such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment is processed through Shopify's PCI-compliant checkout and no card details are stored on our servers.
